Installing takes a few minutes and is done at home, before you leave. Activating happens when you land.
Before you start
- Your iPhone must be eSIM compatible and carrier-unlocked
- Connect to a strong, stable Wi-Fi network — a weak connection can make the installation fail
- Turn Airplane Mode off
You can only download your eSIM once. Don't uninstall or delete it — we can't issue a new QR code.
Option 1 : Install with a QR code
You'll receive your QR code in your order confirmation email. You'll need it on a second screen or printed — you can't scan a code shown on the same phone.
1. Scan the code with your iPhone camera. A screen showing your available eSIM appears — tap Set Up.
2. Name your eSIM (optional). A label like Orange Travel makes it easier to tell apart from your personal line later.
Can't scan the code? Go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Enter Details Manually and type in the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code shown under your QR code in the email
Option 2 : Install from the app
1. Start the installation
Open the Orange Travel app and go to the confirmation page or to My eSIMs.
Tap Install to begin. When the pop-up appears, tap Activate, then tap Continue.
2. Let your iPhone finish
Your iPhone will connect to the network and begin setting up the mobile plan.
When Mobile Plan Setup Complete appears, tap Done, then tap Continue in the app.-
You may then rename your eSIM to make it easier to identify later.
Choose a label such as Orange Travel, then tap Continue.
3. Choose your default settings
- For calls messages, iMessage, and FaceTime, keep your Primary line selected and tap Continue.
- For mobile data, also keep Primary selected before traveling, then tap Done or Continue.
4. Installation confirmation
The app will confirm that your eSIM is installed
Activate your eSIM when you arrive
Installing your eSIM doesn't start your plan. To activate it once you land:
- Go to Settings → Cellular
- Select your Orange Travel line
- Turn on Data Roaming
- Set Orange Travel as your line for Mobile Data
Your validity period starts from this moment. Keep Data Roaming off until you arrive, or you'll lose days of coverage.
