Installing takes a few minutes and is done at home, before you leave. Activating happens when you land.
Before you start
- Your device must be eSIM compatible and carrier-unlocked
- Connect to a strong, stable Wi-Fi network — a weak connection can make the installation fail
- Turn Airplane Mode off
You can only download your eSIM once. Don't uninstall or delete it — we can't issue a new QR code.
Option 1 : Install with a QR code
You'll receive your QR code in your order confirmation email. You'll need it on a second screen or printed — you can't scan a code shown on the same phone.
1. Scan the code with your camera. A screen showing your available eSIM appears — tap Set Up.
2. Name your eSIM (optional). A label like Orange Travel makes it easier to tell apart from your personal line later.
Option 2 : Install from the app
1.Start the installation
- Open the Orange Travel app.
- From your purchase confirmation page, or the My eSIMs section, tap Install.
- A pop-up appears — tap Allow to let your phone add the eSIM.
💡Installation can take a few minutes. Don't close the app, just wait until it's done.
2.Rename your eSIM (optional)
Your phone may suggest a name for the new line "Orange Travel eSIM" makes it easy to recognize later. Tap Next or Continue.
3.Choose your preferred SIMs
Set Orange Travel eSIM as your line for mobile data.
Set Orange Travel eSIM as your line for mobile data.
Tap Done once everything is set.
4.If your plan includes calls and texts
- For calls: select Orange Travel as your primary SIM.
- For messages: select Orange Travel as your primary SIM.
Check that your eSIM is installed
Your phone number may not appear in your SIM settings. Instead, the line may show a carrier name like Orange France or Orange. That's normal and doesn't mean the installation failed.
