Why can't I send a text message?

Most of the time, it's a number format issue rather than a problem with your eSIM.

Use the international format

Your text won't go through unless the number is written in full international format, even for a local number:

00 + country code + number

Example: to text a Spanish number, write 0034 followed by the number.

💡 For countries where numbers start with 0 — like France or the UK — drop the leading zero after the country code.

Why can't I reply in an existing conversation?

If a contact is saved without the 00 prefix, your phone won't recognise it and your message won't send — even in a thread that was already open.

Save the contact again in international format, then start a new conversation. Replying inside the old thread won't work.

⚠️ Can I text short and premium-rate numbers?

No. Our plans don't allow calls or texts to short, special or premium-rate numbers.

Still not working?

Check that Orange Travel is selected as your line for messages in your phone settings, and that your plan includes texts — data-only plans don't.

Our support team is available 24/7 by chat.
