Yes. WhatsApp works with your Orange Travel eSIM, and you keep your usual WhatsApp number. Your account is linked to your phone number, not to your SIM, so nothing changes for your contacts.
đź’¬ How it works
Your eSIM provides the internet connection, and WhatsApp keeps running on your usual account. You can send messages, make calls and video calls, and share photos exactly as you do at home.
This works on data-only plans too , you don’t need a plan with calls and texts to use WhatsApp.
Before you travel
⚠️ Don’t change your number in WhatsApp. There’s no need to, and it would move your account to a different number.
Make sure WhatsApp is up to date and your number is verified before you leave. If WhatsApp ever asks you to verify again, it sends a text to your usual number — easier to handle while you’re still at home.
Good to know
WhatsApp calls use your data, not your plan’s call minutes.
Video calls use much more data than messages. If you plan to make a lot of them, choose a plan with enough data or top-up during your trip.
In a few countries, WhatsApp is restricted by local regulations and may not work, regardless of which eSIM you use.
