How to avoid roaming charges while travelling ?

Your Orange Travel eSIM never charges roaming fees , your plan is prepaid and covers your destination. But your usual SIM stays active alongside it, and your home operator can still charge you if it connects abroad.

Here’s how to avoid that.

The main thing: turn off data roaming on your home line

This is what prevents unexpected data charges. Your Orange Travel eSIM handles the internet; your home line doesn’t need to.

On iPhone
Settings → Cellular → tap your home line → turn off Data Roaming.

Then go back to Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data and select your Orange Travel line.

On Android
Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → select your home SIM → turn off roaming.
Pixel: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → select your home SIM → turn off Roaming.

Then set Orange Travel as your line for mobile data on the same screen.

Turn off automatic data switching

Your phone can switch back to your home line on its own when the signal drops — and that’s when charges appear. Look for Allow Cellular Data Switching on iPhone, or Automatic Data Switching on Android, and make sure it’s off.

If you want to keep your usual number reachable

You can leave your home line on for calls and texts and still use Orange Travel for data. Just keep its data roaming off.

⚠️ Keep in mind that your operator may charge you for calls and texts received abroad, depending on your contract. Check with them before you travel.

The simplest option

If you don’t need your usual number at all during your trip, turn your home line off completely in your settings. Your Orange Travel eSIM then handles everything, with no risk of charges from your operator.
