Can I still receive SMS codes from my bank while abroad?

Yes, as long as your usual SIM stays active in your phone.

Bank codes are sent to your usual number, not to your Orange Travel line. So you need to keep your home line switched on to receive them.

How to set it up

Keep your home SIM active for calls and texts, and use your Orange Travel eSIM for data. That’s the standard dual SIM setup, and it’s what lets you get your codes while browsing on your travel plan.

Just turn off data roaming on your home line so your operator doesn’t charge you for internet. Receiving texts is usually free, but check with your operator before you leave  it depends on your contract.

💡 A safer option: switch to in-app validation

Many banks let you confirm payments directly in their app, with a notification instead of a text. This works over your Orange Travel data, so you don’t depend on your home line at all.

If your bank offers it, set it up before you travel you’ll usually need your usual number to activate it.

⚠️ If you turn your home line off completely

You won’t receive bank codes sent by text. If you’re planning to pay online during your trip, keep your home line on for texts, or set up in-app validation before you leave.
